This event is geared toward educating the Black community on the importance of not only filling out the Census, but most importantly the significance of checking Black .
Join us on Monday March 16, as visual, and performing art will be used as a tool to educate and bring together our culture and community on this pressing issue.
Javaka Steptoe, award winning illustrator and author will be the MC.
Confirmed speakers include Dr. Brenda M. Greene of the Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers College.
Gha'il Rhodes, Grammy Nominated Spoken-Word performance Artist, will perform. Visual Artists on display are: Ambria Safford, Amberrose Venus Garden, Daphne Mia Essiet, Phillip Angel Yeldell, and IreMayowa Olopade.
